I’ve been traveling in Iceland for the past few weeks with my creative soul mate Kevin Thom. We’ve been working on a nü creative project that will be released in the new year. It is taking all my might not to tell you every detail about this nü project as it feels like the best work we’ve ever done! What I can tell you is the beauty of Iceland will be featured in the imagery of our nü project.
I thought it would be fun to share some of the behind the scenes personal images from our trip so you can tune into the majestic magic of this spectacular land and feel the bountiful beauty that is inspiring our nü project.
Kevin and I have traveled to many exotic locations around the world to create, film, brainstorm, heartstorm and deepen our connection with the Earth so we can receive inspirational guidance for the work we put out in the world.
My nick-name is “the open-ended funnel” because I have so many creative ideas flowing all the time. Kevin is the brilliant photographer who works with my creative ideas and visions to bring them to life through imagery.
Both of us were blown away by the unique, majestic, wild, spectacular beauty of Iceland. This is what an average day in Iceland looks like….
That little red dot in the photo is me hiking up a mountain to explore a waterfall. There are hundreds of waterfalls and even more mountains. The air is so clean you can literally eat it as pure nourishment. It feels so healthy being in this beautiful place.
The population of Iceland is approximately 330,000 people. We saw way more sheep than we saw people. It was easy to drive for hours and not see anyone but we’d see hundreds of sheep roaming free.
The weather changes by the minute in Iceland, which makes for unpredictable photoshoot planning, but when the earth feels like it she creates the most stunning moments.
I love this shot of Kevin coming through the mist. The whole place feels like another planet!
Even though the land is quite rugged, which is perfect for epic photoshoots, we had some glamorous moments too. I bought a new dress in the capitol city Reykjavik and did a mini fashion show in the indoor warmth of our little Air B&B flat that had a lot of white furniture.
Another Air B&B we stayed at, to my surprise, was an old Post Office that had been converted into little apartments. It made me giggle with reflective awe as I fell asleep in the comfortable bed at the Post Office. I worked as a Letter Carrier at Canada Post for years, all the while dreaming of traveling the world to create art and express beauty. What a full circle moment to find myself living the dream while sleeping in the Post Office!
This flat roof white building is the converted Post Office in Sauðárkrókur where we stayed for a few nights.
There were so many magical clues everywhere letting me know I was in the right place. I love the feeling of walking in sync with the divine and spotting the messages along the way. The Post Office was just one of those divine winks that made me smile.
While exploring the little stores and festive streets of Reykjavik I saw rainbows displayed as art in store windows (this is giving me ideas!) and a wise barn owl watching over the streets like a loving guardian.
Our real purpose for being in Iceland was to work, or rather commune with the earth and create beauty!
I brought a whole suitcase full of fabrics that were to be potential costumes for photoshoots. I was delighted by how perfectly the colors and textures of my fabrics complimented the environment. These are some of the behind the scenes shots preparing for our creative photoshoots.
We created an epic collection of creative images to share with you. We’ll be releasing our nü creative work from Iceland in the new year. Oh my, it is really hard not to tell you more about it. All I can say at this point is….expect to be blown away by a whole nü level of B-E-A-U-T-Y!
To give you a sense of the epic beauty we had to work with, here are some of the gorgeous landscape photos Kevin Thom created using his drone. Iceland is out-of-this-world!
The elements of the earth felt like Elders guiding our trip. We connected with the pure ice Water from the glaciers, the Fire steaming through cracks of the earth heating the hot springs, the Wind dancing a wild dance telling us which way to go, and the Rocks sculpting our path. What a place!
We’ll be releasing our brand nü creative work in the new year.
For now, I hope the beauty of Iceland captured through these behind the scenes shots swoops into your day like a fresh breeze and opens your heart to the bountiful beauty of our planet Earth!
What do you think of Iceland? Have you been there or ever wanted to travel there?
Kevin and I are always looking for epic earth sites to visit, if you know of any gorgeous places around the world, post below.
May the beauty of Iceland kiss your feet and call you deeper into your connection with the earth.
Share this post and spark a sacred earth connection in your friends!
