It was such a blessing to spend this intimate time appreciating the beauty of my yoni. This piece is a rendition of my own yoni with its unique curves and folds. I painted it on carved olive wood, representing peace, nourishment, healing and illumination. The olive wood is shaped into a bowl, embodying all that is held within the womb: feminine power, creativity, trauma and hope. The bowl is set upon the deep, vast universe, symbolic of the infinite potential that is available to us through this sacred gateway. I placed the piece into a frame because we frame images that we see as beautiful and worthy. My hope is to convey the exquisite natural beauty and sacredness of the yoni, while expressing its place in today’s world. Today, as women re-ignite our potential, we are re-framing our relationships with our yonis, seeing them now as key to our transformation.
